Position Overview: Experienced Infrastructure and MEP Specialist with expertise in Systems Safety and Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) for metro rail projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the infrastructure and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within metro rail projects. You will play a critical role in assessing and verifying the safety standards and compliance of these systems, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality metro rail projects.

Responsibilities:

Systems Safety and ISA: Conduct comprehensive safety assessments and Independent Safety Assessments (ISA) for metro rail projects, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations. Identify potential safety risks, hazards, and concerns associated with infrastructure and MEP systems, and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.


Infrastructure and MEP Design Review: Review and provide technical guidance on the design and implementation of infrastructure and MEP systems, including stations, tunnels, tracks, signaling, power supply, lighting, ventilation, drainage, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems. Ensure that designs align with safety requirements, operational efficiency, and industry best practices.


Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the implementation of safety procedures, protocols, and guidelines across the project lifecycle. Regularly review project documentation, construction plans, and safety-related documentation to ensure compliance with safety standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.


Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and hazards associated with infrastructure and MEP systems, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project teams to implement appropriate control measures, safety protocols, and emergency response plans to minimize risks and ensure the safety of passengers, employees, and the general public.


Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders regarding infrastructure and MEP systems. Address technical queries, provide solutions to engineering challenges, and actively contribute to the resolution of technical issues during the design, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.


Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, regulatory bodies, and safety authorities, to ensure effective communication and coordination of safety-related activities. Participate in meetings, workshops, and project reviews to provide input on safety matters, offer recommendations, and contribute to decision-making processes.


Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, safety assessments, and ISA documentation highlighting findings, recommendations, and compliance status. Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, inspections, audits, and incidents. Regularly update project teams and management on safety performance, key milestones, and areas requiring attention.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Extensive experience in infrastructure and MEP systems design, construction, and safety management within metro rail projects.

In-depth knowledge of relevant safety standards, codes, regulations, and industry best practices (e.g., CENELEC, EN, ISO, IEC) applicable to metro rail systems.
Proven experience in conducting safety assessments, ISA, and risk assessments for infrastructure and MEP systems.

Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and their application to metro rail projects.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality in documentation and reporting.

Familiarity with relevant software tools for safety analysis and risk assessment is desirable.


Professional certifications related to safety engineering, systems safety, or ISA (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Functional Safety Expert) are advantageous.
